Police officer shoots former father-in-law and brother-in-law: He wanted to see his children

The police officer shot his former father-in-law and brother-in-law with a firearm in the middle of the street following an argument. The father-in-law passed away at the hospital where he was taken.

The incident occurred on Kerkük Street in the Tepekum neighborhood of the Adapazarı district.

According to the information obtained, the police officer, identified as H.D. and stationed in Bolu, divorced his wife approximately 5 years ago.

It is alleged that the police officer, H.D., who came to Adapazarı to see his children, had an argument with his former father-in-law, Yaşar T. (60), and his former brother-in-law, I.A.

During the incident, which escalated quickly, H.D. shot Yaşar T. and I.A. with the firearm he was carrying. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area.

The injured individuals, who received initial medical intervention from the teams arriving at the scene, were transported to the Sakarya Training and Research Hospital.

Despite all interventions, Yaşar T. could not be saved and lost his life. The treatment of I.A., who was reportedly shot in the leg, is ongoing. Meanwhile, H.D. was apprehended and taken into custody along with the weapon used in the incident.
