Pregnant mother and her baby lose their lives due to boiler leak
A 9-month pregnant woman who could not be reached was found dead in her home in Nevşehir. According to initial investigations, it is believed that the woman may have been poisoned by natural gas leaking from the boiler.
The incident occurred on the 4th floor of the Efe Apartment building located on Şehit Musa Taşdemir Street in the 2000 Evler neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Celal K. reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center after being unable to reach his 9-month pregnant wife, Şeyma K., who was not answering her phone for a long time.
Subsequently, Celal K. left his workplace and came home, but when he could not open the door with his own key, he entered with the help of a locksmith called to the scene.
Health and police teams who entered the house found 33-year-old Şeyma K. motionless in the living room. Checks by the medical teams determined that the young woman had lost her life.
Following this, the teams rushed Şeyma K. to the Nevşehir State Hospital Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in an attempt to save the baby in her womb. However, it was learned that despite all interventions performed there, the baby could not be saved either.
Upon the instructions of the Public Prosecutor, police teams and natural gas company officials who examined the scene detected a gas leak while the boiler in the house was running.
The body of 33-year-old Şeyma K. was taken to the hospital morgue to determine the exact cause of death. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
