PSG wins 9-goal thriller in Champions League
In a UEFA Champions League semi-final match featuring 9 goals, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich 5-4 at home.
In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, Paris Saint-Germain hosted German side Bayern Munich.
Bayern found the opening goal in a match that started at a high tempo. Harry Kane put his team 1-0 ahead from a penalty kick in the 17th minute.
The hosts equalized through Kvaratskhelia in the 24th minute and took the lead with a header from Joao Neves in the 33rd minute. During a period of end-to-end action, Michael Olise found the back of the net in the 41st minute.
Minutes after that goal, PSG won a penalty following a VAR review and went into the dressing room with a 3-2 lead. The second half of the match also began at a high tempo, and Luis Enrique's side found another goal through Kvaratskhelia in the 56th minute. Two minutes after that goal, Dembele sent the ball into the net.
As the final half-hour approached, the score was 5-2. The German side reduced the deficit to 2 with a goal from Upamecano in the 65th minute, and in the 68th minute, Luis Diaz, who slipped behind the defense, scored the 4th goal for his team.
Both teams created clear-cut chances in the remaining minutes, but the match ended 5-4 in favor of the French side. The semi-final second leg between Bayern Munich and PSG will be played on Wednesday, May 6.
