Real estate sales increased across Turkey! Istanbul is at the top of the list

An increase has been recorded in real estate sales in Turkey. Last year, 3 million 65 thousand 872 real estate properties were sold across the country. The title deed fee revenue generated exceeded 96 billion 133 million liras.

In 2024, the number of transactions carried out at land registry offices was 18 million 726 thousand 979. This figure was at the level of 18 million 285 thousand 900 the previous year.

Last year, while real estate (residential, workplace, land, field, commercial property, etc.) sales accounted for 3 million 65 thousand 872 of the transactions carried out at the land registry, 1 million 354 thousand 35 were mortgages, 477 thousand 974 were successions, 110 thousand 238 were corrections, 70 thousand 719 were expropriations, and 55 thousand 556 were partitions. While other transactions exceeded 13 million, transactions such as division, donation, consolidation, barter, life-care agreements, annotations for construction-in-return-for-land contracts, and waiver of usufruct rights were also carried out at the land registry.

While the month with the highest number of transactions was December with 2 million 72 thousand, this number remained at 1 million 75 thousand in June.

While the month with the highest title deed fee revenue was December with 16 billion 13 million liras, it was followed by November with 10.4 billion liras and October with 10.2 billion liras. The lowest month was January with 5 billion 199 million liras.

RECORD IN ISTANBUL

Last year, the city with the highest number of real estate sales was Istanbul with 357 thousand 873, followed by Ankara with 209 thousand 244 and Izmir with 144 thousand 183.

Istanbul also ranked first in revenue generated from transactions carried out at the land registry. While this figure exceeded 27.5 billion liras in Istanbul, it was 9.8 billion liras in Ankara and 6.5 billion liras in Izmir.
