Retired police officer kills son who attacked him with a knife

The incident occurred on Elif Su Uludağ Street in the Gültepe neighborhood of the Sarıçam district. According to reports, 23-year-old A.K.K., who is allegedly a drug addict, asked his retired police officer father, F.K. (52), for money. When F.K. refused to give him money, A.K.K. attacked his father with a knife he was carrying.

In response, F.K. opened fire on his son with his handgun. A.K.K. was struck in various parts of his body by bullets fired by F.K., who allegedly continued shooting until his magazine was empty, and collapsed to the ground.

Following the incident, F.K. called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported the situation to the police. Upon notification, teams dispatched to the area determined that A.K.K. had lost his life. F.K., who waited by his son until the police teams arrived, was taken into custody and brought to the police station. The suspect was handed over to the Homicide Bureau teams for processing.

"He had gone missing in a forest fire last year"

Meanwhile, it was learned that the deceased, A.K.K., was a forest worker. It emerged that A.K.K. had gone missing during efforts to combat a forest fire that broke out in the Kozan district on August 8 last year.

Teams had mobilized during the search efforts launched for the young worker who went missing in the fire zone, and after approximately 10 hours of work, A.K.K. was found alive and taken to the hospital. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
