The investigation into the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found in a sack by the Eğertutmaz Stream after a 19-day search operation in Diyarbakır, is deepening.

The statements and phone records of family members detained in connection with the murder are currently under scrutiny.

According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Sabah, the testimony of Devran Güran, the son of the uncle Salim Güran who was arrested in connection with the incident, has emerged.

Investigations conducted as part of the inquiry revealed that Devran Güran had deleted his WhatsApp messages and call logs from the day of the incident.

What was notable was that Devran had not deleted his messages from other days. He was unable to explain why he had done so.

Devran Güran, who was questioned at the Diyarbakır Gendarmerie Command, stated that they went to the Derik district of Mardin to distribute wedding invitations during the hours Narin went missing.

Devran also claimed that the family council did not meet or make any decisions during the days Narin went missing.

Devran Güran also responded to questions regarding his father Salim Güran's suggestions to family members, saying, "Do not get involved, I will handle this."

Questioned by the Public Prosecutor, Devran claimed that his father had not made such a statement.

As the investigation continues into the potential involvement of family members in the incident, efforts are underway to lift the veil of secrecy surrounding the murder of Narin Güran.
