School principal pushed autistic student down the stairs: 'My hands and feet were shaking'

According to the information obtained, the incident took place at Irlamaz Refik Pınar Middle School in Turgutlu. It is alleged that the school principal, Bekir G., pushed 13-year-old autistic student B.U.U. down the stairs during an argument for reasons yet to be determined. Those moments were recorded second by second by the school's security camera.

Upon learning of the incident, the mother, Derya Yavuz, said that her son came home covered in dust and that she went to the school immediately after he explained what had happened. Yavuz stated, "My son has been attending the same school for 8 years. When he came home, his clothes were covered in dust. When I asked what happened, he said, 'The principal threw me down.' I called the principal, but he didn't answer. I went to the school and asked for the camera footage; at first, they didn't want to give it to me. When I saw the footage, my hands and feet were shaking. I notified the gendarmerie, and a medical report for battery was obtained. I will take this matter to court."

Şenay Çalışgan, President of the Autism Solidarity and Rights Association, who made a statement regarding the incident, expressed her deep sadness after watching the footage, saying, "As a mother, my heart ached. I felt as if it had been done to my own child. I cannot accept an educator doing such a thing. As an association, we will closely follow the legal process."

It was learned that a judicial and administrative investigation has been launched into the incident by the Turgutlu District Governorate and the Provincial Directorate of National Education.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

It was learned that an investigation was launched on November 5, 2025, in the Turgutlu district of Manisa, following allegations that the school principal physically intervened against a student on the same day.

In the statement made by the District Governorate, it was stated that the administrative process regarding the incident was initiated immediately and that the school principal was removed from his post as a preliminary administrative measure. It was learned that the investigation is being conducted meticulously.
