Security measures increased in the Narin Güran case! Rooms next to Uncle Güran's were evacuated!

The first hearing regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing on her way home from a Quran course in Diyarbakır and whose body was found in a sack in a stream near the village 19 days later, will be held on November 7.

Following the first hearing, the court will visit the village to conduct a site inspection at the house where the little girl was murdered.

Due to the high number of parties involved, the hearing will be held in a special courtroom where the main KCK trial and organized crime cases were heard in previous years.

FOUR TOGETHER AT THE TIME OF NARİN'S MURDER

Aggravated life imprisonment is being sought for mother Yüksel, uncle Salim, older brother Enes, and Nevzat Bahtiyar, who hid the little girl in the stream, on charges of “intentional killing of a child in complicity.”

According to narrowed HTS records and signal base data, it was revealed that all 4 defendants were together at the time the little girl was murdered, and therefore all were accepted as joint perpetrators.

LAWYER REQUESTED FOR THE CONFESSOR

With only days left until the hearing, although 12 lawyers have submitted special powers of attorney to the file to defend the mother, uncle, and brother, the court requested a lawyer from the Diyarbakır Bar Association for Nevzat Bahtiyar in accordance with procedure and law, as he is accused of murder and faces an aggravated life sentence, and he did not have a lawyer.

A lawyer was assigned to defend Bahtiyar through the OCAS system.

ROOMS NEXT TO THE UNCLE'S CELL EVACUATED

According to the report by Özgür Cebe from Sözcü, it was learned that the rooms immediately adjacent to the cell where uncle Salim Güran is being held at the Diyarbakır T-Type High-Security Closed Penal Institution were also emptied due to safety concerns.

The inmates staying in the rooms to the right and left of Uncle Güran's cell were moved to rooms in other sections.

COURT TO CONDUCT SITE INSPECTION IN THE VILLAGE

After the first hearing, the court delegation will go to Tavşantepe Village to conduct an inspection at the house where the little girl was murdered, as well as the barn and outbuildings surrounding the house.

HEARING TO BE HELD IN A SPECIAL COURTROOM

The Ministry of Family and Social Services and bar associations from different provinces of Turkey will participate in the case as intervening parties on the grounds that they were harmed by the crime.

Due to the high number of parties, the first hearing will be held in a special courtroom inside the courthouse building.

In previous years, the main KCK trial, unsolved murders committed in the region, large organized crime groups, terrorism financing, and major drug cases were heard in this courtroom.

The trial regarding the Narin murder will also be held in this courtroom.

In the first hearing, after the defendants' defenses are taken and witnesses are heard, the court delegation, the prosecutor, and the intervening lawyers will ask questions to the defendants using the cross-examination method.

HEARING WILL BE RECORDED ON CAMERA

Due to the scope of the file and the high number of parties, the court decided that the hearing should be recorded with both a camera and an audio recording system.

The court requested that a technician expert in the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS) check whether the SEGBİS system in the courtroom is in working order before the day of the hearing.

It requested that any malfunctions be resolved before the day of the hearing.

It was also decided that a technician expert in SEGBİS should be kept ready in the courtroom until the end of the hearing to quickly prevent any possible technical malfunctions that may occur in the SEGBİS system on the day and time the hearing begins, and to ensure that the trial proceeds quickly and continuously without causing any delays.

MEASURES REQUESTED AGAINST PROVOCATION ATTEMPTS

A precautionary decision was taken to ensure that necessary security measures are taken against any possible unrest or provocation attempts before and after the hearing.

The court requested security measures from the Police Department to be taken primarily inside the courtroom, at the entrance of the courtroom, in the corridor where the courtroom is located, and outside the courthouse building.
