Sexual assault charges against former Arsenal player Partey

In a statement from the London Metropolitan Police in England, it was reported that former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey is facing charges of five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. It was stated that three women have filed complaints and the allegations date back to 2021-2022.

It was reported that the investigation was initially opened following a rape report received in February 2022. Andy Furphy of the Metropolitan Police said, "Our priority is to provide support to the women in question. We ask anyone who has been affected by this incident or has information to contact our team."

The famous footballer is expected to stand trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on August 5.

Partey, who plays for the Ghana national team, previously served as a midfielder for English Premier League side Arsenal. The player, whose contract expired at the end of last season, is currently a free agent.

Partey had transferred to Arsenal from Atletico Madrid for 50 million euros in October 2020.
