CHP figures react sharply to the lightning investigation launched against Özgür Özel: 'The government's stick'

Following the lightning investigation launched against Özel due to his speech at the Antalya rally, party officials issued a series of sharp reactions. CHP figures emphasized that the judiciary has become a tool for political pressure.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED AGAINST ÖZGÜR ÖZEL AS SOON AS HE LEFT THE STAGE

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir stated on his social media account after the rally, "A lightning-fast investigation was opened against our Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel, as soon as he stepped off the stage in Antalya, because he spoke about the baklava conspiracy. Hide behind the stick of the judiciary as much as you want! We will continue to tell our nation the truth everywhere," he said.

Pointing out that the judiciary has become politicized, Emir emphasized that the public is beginning to see what is happening. "The judiciary has now become the government's stick," said Emir, expressing that pressure policies will not intimidate the CHP.

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel also showed his reaction via social media. CHP Deputy Chairman Ulaş Karasu also evaluated the lightning investigation as a manifestation of the government's fear. CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut highlighted the double standard of the judiciary. "An investigation is launched before Özgür Özel even steps down from the podium. Even the expressions used by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office declare that the judiciary is biased," said Bulut, expressing his reaction with the words, "We reject this tutelage order."
