She was killed by Israeli soldiers... Witness testimonies in the Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi case have emerged

Witness testimonies have been added to the investigation file opened by the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau for the crime of "intentional killing" under the heading of "crimes against humanity" regarding the death of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was massacred by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank.

Upon the request of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the translation of documents sent by Palestinian judicial authorities within the scope of international crimes and judicial cooperation has been completed.

The documents include photographs and camera footage of the scene, witness testimonies, a crime scene sketch, and an autopsy report.

It has been learned that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which has begun evaluating the incoming documents, is continuing its efforts to identify the person or persons who gave the order and opened fire in the killing of Eygi.

"THEY THREW GAS BOMBS"

According to the investigation file, a peaceful meeting and march were held in the city of Beita, in the Nablus district of the West Bank, with the participation of international solidarity activists, including Eygi, from many countries and different nationalities.

Following Friday prayers, the Israeli soldiers present there threw gas bombs at the demonstrators without any justification. During this time, the soldiers occupied a house belonging to a Palestinian citizen.

Eygi died after being shot in the head by sniper soldiers who climbed onto the roof of the house.

"SOUND OF A BULLET WAS HEARD"

American citizen Alex Edward Harrison Chabbott, who testified as a witness in the investigation, stated that he and a group of international solidarity activists were part of a civilian and peaceful group called "Fazaa".

Chabbott noted that after they started the march, they moved to a sheltered place after Israeli soldiers threw gas bombs, and that at 13:48, he heard the sound of a bullet hitting the area where they were hiding.

“AYŞENUR WAS TARGETED WITH THE INTENT TO KILL”

Explaining that this bullet was fired by Israeli soldiers located on the roof of a Palestinian citizen's house, Chabbott stated, "Snipers were moving on the roof of the house and watching us. As we were trying to flee after the first shot, I heard the sound of a second gunshot, and Ayşenur was two meters to my left. As Ayşenur was fleeing with us, she fell to the ground after being hit by a bullet in the back. Based on my observations, Ayşenur was directly targeted with the intent to kill."

Witness and British citizen Dominic Robin Sedol also stated that they went to the region to document the acts of violence committed by the Israeli army against Palestinians, and that on the day of the incident at 13:00, Israeli soldiers were coming towards them.

“I HEARD THEM SCREAMING”

Explaining that the soldiers first threw gas bombs and then they noticed snipers on the roof of one of the houses, Sedol said, “We fled among the olive trees with the solidarity activists. Ayşe was also hiding among the olive trees, and then at least two gunshots were heard. The occupying soldiers were on the roof of the building and were firing directly at us. I heard Ayşenur and a friend next to her screaming. I saw Ayşenur on the ground. The Israeli occupation soldiers fired directly to kill Ayşe.”

“BLOOD WAS FLOWING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF HER HEAD”

Witness and Australian citizen Helen Maria O'Sullivan also stated that she went to the Beita region with Eygi and a group of activists, and that they saw Israeli soldiers across from the area where they were going to march.

O'Sullivan emphasized that the soldiers started throwing tear gas at the crowd and the activists hid, saying, "While we were hiding, two gunshots were heard; I heard people saying 'live ammunition' in English. When I heard the first gunshot, I ran and hid in a sheltered area. The martyr Ayşenur was in the soldiers' line of sight, and the second gunshot was heard. Ayşenur fell to the ground. I was next to her, and the distance was less than a meter. I picked her up and put her in my arms. At that moment, I didn't realize she was wounded; I saw her eyes rolling back and blood flowing from the left side of her head and her nose. There was no one armed in the region other than the occupying Israeli soldiers, and the fire was coming from the area where the Israeli soldiers were located. We, as Palestinian activists and citizens, were in a calm and peaceful situation. We had no acts of violence. We were only there for documentation and monitoring."

“I PARTICIPATED IN THE MARCH WITH AYŞENUR”

Witness and Israeli citizen Jonhatan Polak Pasterbnak stated in his testimony that they participated in the peaceful march together with Ayşenur, and that the soldiers started using tear gas and live ammunition, saying, "I have been participating in marches for about 20 years, and I can distinguish the sound of plastic or live ammunition. After the second shot, I heard someone calling my name; they were asking for help. They were next to Ayşenur, and I ran there. I saw Ayşenur lying on the ground, and there were one or two girls around her in solidarity. I approached Ayşenur and noticed that there was a lot of blood coming from the head area on the left side. I looked at the soldiers on the roof of the house and saw that the soldiers were still there; they had directly targeted Ayşenur."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Israeli soldiers opened fire on participants during a peaceful demonstration in the occupied West Bank, and Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who also held US citizenship and participated in the demonstration to support Palestinians, was seriously wounded after being shot in the head. Eygi, who was taken to a hospital belonging to Palestinians, lost her life on September 6 despite all interventions.
