'Son of a Turk' tension in the Armenian Parliament: He shouted at the deputy he walked towards

A scuffle broke out between ruling party and opposition deputies during the debate on lifting the immunity of opposition deputy Artur Sargsyan. During the scuffle, a deputy was seen shouting "son of a Turk" at the deputy he was arguing with and walking towards him.

DEPUTIES ENGAGED IN A FISTFIGHT

Tension rose after some deputies from the ruling party verbally harassed Sargsyan, who wanted to leave the general assembly hall following his speech.

The argument quickly escalated into a fight involving kicks and punches. During the brawl, water bottles were thrown, and some deputies assaulted one another. State Protection Service officers, who intervened in the incidents, had difficulty separating the parties.

ACCUSATIONS OF "PLANNING TO SEIZE POWER"

The session was adjourned following the scuffle, but the fight continued for a while outside the general assembly hall.

The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office had applied to parliament to lift the immunity of Artur Sargsyan, who is under investigation on charges of "preparing a terrorist attack" and "planning to seize power."
