It has been reported that similar tips have been received from Niğde, Sakarya, Kocaeli, and Antalya regarding the 'Newborn Gang,' which caused the deaths of babies in hospitals in Istanbul and Tekirdağ.
The 'Newborn Gang,' which caused the deaths of numerous babies by transferring newborns to private hospitals for illicit profit, has become the primary agenda in Turkey.
The investigation into the baby-killing gang was initiated on May 21, 2023, under the coordination of the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, following a tip-off from the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate.
As of June 20, 2023, suspects were detained in two separate operations. On August 30, 2024, it was reported in the press that the lawyer for the detained suspects had threatened the prosecutor conducting the investigation.
The indictment against 47 suspects, 22 of whom are in custody, was prepared on October 16.
Following the details of the 400-page indictment prepared by the Bakırköy Prosecutor's Office being reflected in the press, the licenses of 10 hospitals involved in the incident were revoked.
Among the hospitals whose licenses were revoked was the Private Avcılar Hospital, owned by former Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu.
The hospitals whose licenses were revoked are as follows:
Private Avcılar Hospital, Private TRG Hospitalist Hospital, Private Birinci Hospital, Private Güney Hospital, Private Bağcılar Medilife Hospital, Private Beylikdüzü Medilife Hospital, Private Reyap Istanbul Hospital, Private Şafak Hospital Bağcılar, and Private Silivri Kolan Hospital
While Turkey has been discussing the Newborn Gang scandal for days, tips have begun to arrive from Anatolia as well, following Istanbul and Tekirdağ.
According to a report by the Türkiye newspaper, it has been learned that similar tips regarding the baby-killing gang have also been received from Niğde, Sakarya, Kocaeli, and Antalya.
Among the tips received was one stating that 'a 32-week-old baby needed surgery and was transferred from a university hospital to a private hospital for this purpose.'
It was stated that the same tip also included claims that 'the treatment lasted for 1 month and the baby passed away during the process.'
In another tip, it was alleged that the family of a baby placed in an incubator due to diabetes was informed that the baby had 'pathological jaundice and that their liver and kidneys had failed,' but the death certificate stated 'natural death.'
THEY DID NOT EVEN GIVE THE BABY'S ID TO THE FAMILY
In this incident, it was also claimed that the doctor performing the treatment took the baby's identification and never returned it to the family.
MONEY WAS DEMANDED FROM THE FAMILY
Another tip included the allegation that money was demanded from the family for nitric oxide gas treatment, and although they were told an invoice would be issued, it was never provided.
In the tip mentioning that the baby in question had died, it was also stated that the treatment documents were not given to the family.
THEY NEVER CONNECTED THE BABY TO THE MACHINE
In a tip regarding a private hospital that included the claim that a healthy baby was 'intubated from the moment of birth,' it was learned that the baby was never actually connected to a machine.
The grieving family claimed that although their child died at night, they were only informed in the morning.
