Stabbed to death by a young person he met online

The incident occurred around 18:00 in an apartment on the 3rd floor of a 4-story building located on 846th Street in the Toros neighborhood of the Konyaaltı district.

According to the information obtained, friends of İlhan Çobanoğlu (26), who had not heard from him for a long time and could not get him to open the door, became suspicious and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Entering the apartment with the help of a locksmith, the teams found Çobanoğlu on the floor covered in blood.

Examinations by medical teams determined that the young man, who had been stabbed in various parts of his body and on his face, had lost his life.

Launching a comprehensive investigation following the incident, teams from the Antalya Police Department's Public Security Branch, Homicide Bureau, determined the suspect's escape route.

As a result of the immediate pursuit, the murder suspect Y.E.Ç. (21) was apprehended and taken into custody in the Aksu district approximately 2 hours after the incident. It was learned that İlhan Çobanoğlu and the suspect Y.E.Ç. had met online and had an argument at the house for a reason yet to be determined.

An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
