It has been claimed that the terrorist organization PKK decided to dissolve and lay down its arms at its so-called congress held in the first half of April. According to a report by Aydınlık Newspaper citing security sources, the organization has also conveyed this decision to state officials. However, it was stated that the decision has not yet been announced to the public.

DECISION TO DISSOLVE AND LAY DOWN ARMS WAS TAKEN

According to the claim in the report, the PKK's so-called congress was not an ordinary or short-term meeting, but a comprehensive process in which all wings of the organization participated and long, detailed consultations were held.

It was stated that as a result of these meetings, the organization decided to dissolve itself and end its armed struggle.

WHY WAS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DECISION POSTPONED?

The report stated that the decision in question was planned to be announced to the public on May 5; however, the announcement was postponed due to the sudden passing of DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder on the same day.
