Stole gold and hid in the shopping mall's ventilation shaft! Suspect caught 3 days later

Efforts were launched to apprehend an individual who allegedly entered a jewelry store in a shopping mall in the Sinanpaşa neighborhood of the central Yüreğir district through the ventilation shaft around 23:00 on Sunday.

It was alleged that the suspect, who hid in the shopping mall's ventilation shaft, stole 3 kilograms of gold and 100 thousand TL from the jewelry store.

The suspect could not be found during search operations conducted by police, AFAD, and private security personnel in the shopping mall.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA

The suspect, hiding in the shopping mall's ventilation shaft, was caught on a security camera positioned there but quickly changed their location.

It was determined that the suspect ate food from the trash.

THEY WITHDREW THEIR COMPLAINTS

It was learned that the jewelry firm, which claimed that gold and money had been stolen, withdrew its complaint today.

On the other hand, police and security guards who were carefully monitoring the cameras in the shopping mall noticed the suspect exiting the building from the ventilation shaft.

The suspect, who attempted to flee on foot, was caught on Karataş Boulevard as a result of the pursuit by police and security guards.

Police conducting an investigation in the area did not find the gold and money allegedly stolen by the suspect.

CAUGHT WEARING A T-SHIRT WITH 'DONE' WRITTEN ON IT

It was observed that the suspect, who was taken to the hospital and then to the police station after treatment was completed, and who was determined to have been left without water and food, was wearing a t-shirt with the English word 'done' written on it, meaning 'finished, completed'.

The suspect's interrogation at the police station is ongoing.
