Sunflower seeds in pistachio baklava, chicken heads in sausage: Ministry of Agriculture exposes food fraud

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to expose products found to be non-compliant following its inspections.

In the latest tests, brands of honey, cheese, oil, spices, baklava, delicatessen products, and pastries that were adulterated or mislabeled in a way that endangers health have been exposed.

New brands and products have been added to the list of non-compliant items, which is updated periodically.

In the latest tests, the use of sunflower seeds in pistachio baklava, chicken heads in sausage, and prohibited dyes in spice production were detected.

Offal was also detected in hamburger patties on the list. This brand is DNC Baget Gıda Sanayi.

HEAD MEAT IN SAUSAGE

The brand found to contain offal (head meat) is Ebrar Et ve Et Ürünleri.
