Surprising decision from woman beaten nearly to death by three men: Even the court panel was stunned

During the hearing, the 42-year-old woman, P.D., who was beaten nearly to death that day, stated that she forgave the detained defendants and was no longer pressing charges. Despite the woman's forgiveness, the court decided to release one person while ordering the continued detention of the other two. The unusual incident occurred on May 19, 2025, at a gas station on the Karaçulha Neighborhood Esenköy road. In the incident, which was also captured on security cameras, three individuals identified as H.A. (20), S.S. (21), and T.A. (22) followed P.D. (42), cornered her at the gas station, and brutally beat her after she took refuge in the station's market before fleeing. The three individuals, who were apprehended by security forces, appeared in court on charges of robbery, carjacking, and assault, and were subsequently arrested.

The three suspects, who face up to 10 years in prison, appeared in court today for their first hearing. P.D., who attended the hearing as the complainant and had been beaten nearly to death three months ago, stated in court that she was no longer pressing charges against the men who assaulted her and that she forgave them. Following the woman's withdrawal of her complaint, the court ordered the release of H.A. under judicial control, while ruling that S.S. and T.A. remain in custody. A lawsuit was filed at the Fethiye 3rd High Criminal Court against the detained defendants, seeking up to 10 years in prison on charges of robbery, assault, and battery. The detained defendants S.S., H.A., and T.A. appeared before the judge for the first time.

Testifying at the hearing, 21-year-old S.S. stated that 42-year-old P.D. was his ex-girlfriend and that they had a relationship lasting nearly 3 years, saying, "On the day of the incident, we went to the Çırpı area to buy alcohol. P.D. came to us while intoxicated. She shouted from inside her car. We told her not to shout in the picnic area. I went to her, and while we were talking, she grabbed the amulet hanging on a chain around my neck, saying, 'Your family had a spell cast. It distanced you from me,' and she tore the amulet from my neck. She stepped on the gas and left quickly. I returned to my friends. We set out to get the amulet back from P.D., saying it was valuable to me.

We saw P.D.'s vehicle turn into the gas station. My friend H.A. hit P.D.'s vehicle at the station. The person working at the station attacked us. Meanwhile, T.A. saw the amulet in P.D.'s hand. P.D. had headed toward the market. When T.A. followed her, a scuffle broke out inside the market. When I entered the market, both of them were on the ground. I was shocked. I wanted to leave, saying to P.D., 'Are you happy with what you did? Damn it.' Since I had driven the car P.D. was using many times before, I got into the car under the influence of alcohol and left. P.D. tried to get me out of the vehicle, but I didn't notice this. I might have kicked her if she came after me while I was getting into the car. I don't remember. I didn't do this consciously. After driving 30-40 meters, I left the vehicle at the gas station. I did not ask P.D. for her keys, phone, or wallet. I did not see her phone or bag. P.D. shouted and cursed at me and my friends at the Çırpı location and at the gas station. I do not accept the accusations. I request my acquittal," he testified. In the court, where the other two defendants gave similar testimonies, the complainant P.D. announced that she forgave the defendants.

In her testimony, the woman named P.D. stated that she met with S.S. during the day and they were together, saying, "I went to the Çırpı area for a picnic; I did not go to S.S. I never got out of the car. We talked and had a verbal argument. I had a previous friendship with S.S. Before reaching the Bademli Junction from the Esenköy direction, I saw a vehicle behind me with very loud noise. I pulled to the right. They didn't pass. I wanted to speed up, but I couldn't due to traffic. When I looked in the mirror, I saw 3 people coming. I noticed S.S. I was intentionally trying to enter the gas station in the opposite direction when they hit the vehicle. I asked for help from a person working at the station and entered the market area. The 3 people outside attacked the person at the station. While I was inside, T.A., whom I did not know, came inside.

He threw me to the ground and punched me. I tried to hit him to save myself. He threw me to the ground and bit my arm, and also punched my head. He didn't ask for anything from me. When I headed outside, I saw S.S. I wanted him to get out of my vehicle. As I tried to get to the left front door of the vehicle, T.A. came in front of me and punched me. S.S. drove off. We called the police. The vehicle had been left at the other entrance of the gas station. My phone was on the front right seat of the vehicle, and my bag was on the back seat. The 1,000 TL I had behind my phone was missing. My bag was completely spilled out in the back. As I am a mother, I am not pressing charges against the defendants. I have no financial loss. I do not have a request to join the case," she testified. At the end of the hearing, it was decided to release the detained defendant H.A. under judicial control, while the detention of S.S. and T.A. was ordered to continue, and the hearing was adjourned to a later date.
