Teachers' additional course fee determined: 20 TL raise

The new academic year is beginning. Teachers have started to prepare as they transition from summer break to adapt to the educational life.

Following the salary increase for civil servants, permanent and contract teachers are awaiting the raise for additional course fees. The additional course fee, which refers to the extra payment teachers receive for lessons given outside of their normal working hours or job descriptions, was paid at 105 TL before the raise.

Teachers working in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Turkey are entitled to additional course fees for lessons taught beyond their designated weekly teaching hours.

The amount of this fee varies depending on the teachers' status (permanent, contract-based), their education level, and the number of additional teaching hours provided. According to a report on CNN, the additional course fees paid in addition to teachers' salaries may change with salary increases or economic regulations.

Before the July 2024 salary increase, the additional course fee paid to teachers was 105 TL, and following the 19.31 percent increase, there was an average rise of 20 TL. In this case, with the new rates, the additional course fee was reflected in accounts as 125 TL.
