Tens of thousands bid farewell to Ferdi Zeyrek! His twin daughters' wishes broke hearts

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was seriously injured in an accident at his home in the Keçiliköy neighborhood of Manisa's Yunusemre district and was brought back to life after 70 minutes of heart massage, lost his 66-hour battle for life in the intensive care unit of Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital.

FERDİ ZEYREK LAID TO REST

One of the most crowded funeral ceremonies in Manisa's history was held for Zeyrek yesterday.

Following the funeral prayer performed by tens of thousands of Manisa residents in Republic Square, Zeyrek's body was laid to rest in the family cemetery at Çatal Cemetery.

HE PERSONALLY LOWERED HIS COFFIN INTO THE GRAVE

Zeyrek's body was buried following the ceremony. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, while bidding farewell to Zeyrek, whom he called "my friend, my brother," personally lowered his coffin into the grave.

HIS TWIN DAUGHTERS' FINAL REQUEST BROUGHT TEARS

Emotional moments were experienced at Ferdi Zeyrek's funeral ceremony. Zeyrek's twin daughters wanted to place toys on their father's grave. Those who witnessed those moments could not hold back their tears.
