The figure has reached Erdoğan: Here is the raise rate for the 2025 minimum wage
The figure the government is discussing for the 2025 minimum wage has been revealed.
With the arrival of October, behind-the-scenes talks on the minimum wage have also picked up pace.
According to a report by Gazete Duvar columnist Nergis Demirkaya, the government is considering an increase of around 36-37 percent for the minimum wage.
The minimum wage, which is currently 17 thousand 2 TL, is being re-evaluated in light of economic indicators such as year-end inflation and the 2025 inflation target rate.
According to calculations, the minimum wage could increase by approximately 6 thousand TL, rising to around 23 thousand liras.
However, this increase is leading to comments that it will fall well below the expectations of employees and unions.
Economists say the minimum wage is being eroded by rising living costs and inflation, and that workers' purchasing power has fallen significantly.
Contrary to market expectations, the minimum raise expected by the labor side is over 40 percent.
