The highest-earning clubs in the Süper Lig: Who earned more in the league and in Europe

With the start of the 2024-25 season in the Süper Lig, the football economy is revitalizing once again.

Looking at the balance sheet of the past 17 seasons, Süper Lig clubs have generated 141 billion liras in revenue. During this period, Fenerbahçe became the club with the highest revenue at 428 million dollars, while in Europe, Galatasaray leads with 212 million dollars.

Since the 2007-08 season, Süper Lig clubs have generated significant revenue from broadcasting rights and performance bonuses. Fenerbahçe stands out as the club with the highest consolidated revenue in the Süper Lig over the course of 17 seasons.

According to a report by CNBC-e, the yellow-navies (Fenerbahçe) topped the list with a total revenue of 428 million 906 thousand dollars, while Galatasaray followed in second place with 428 million 59 thousand dollars. Beşiktaş ranks third with 372 million 543 thousand dollars, and Trabzonspor is in fourth place with 289 million 264 thousand dollars.

Fenerbahçe's ability to maintain a higher average ranking than Galatasaray over 17 seasons created the difference in revenue. Although Galatasaray won eight championships, their average ranking was 3.4, while Fenerbahçe's average was determined to be 2.7.

This difference enabled Fenerbahçe to generate higher revenue. Furthermore, in recent years, as Süper Lig revenues have declined in dollar terms, Galatasaray's more frequent championship wins have not been enough to close the revenue gap.

In terms of European cup revenues, Galatasaray leads with 212 million dollars in income. Beşiktaş follows in second place with 190 million dollars, while Fenerbahçe ranks third with 99 million dollars.

These revenues are becoming increasingly important for Süper Lig clubs, as while Süper Lig revenues continue to decline in dollar terms, successes in Europe play a critical role in strengthening the financial structures of the clubs.
