A new lie has been exposed in the Narin Güran murder case, which plunged Turkey into deep sorrow after she went missing in Diyarbakır and her lifeless body was found 17 days later.

Halktv.com.tr columnist İsmail Saymaz addressed the contradictory testimony of Nevzat Bahtiyar, who claimed he received Narin's body from her uncle Salim Güran and buried it in the Eğertutmaz Stream, in his column today.

Nevzat Bahtiyar did not come to his house on the day the body was found

Nevzat Bahtiyar, who claims he received Narin's body from her uncle Salim Güran and buried it in the Eğertutmaz Stream, is known for frequently changing his testimony.

He gave statements to the gendarmerie on September 9, the day he was detained, and to the prosecutor's office and the court the following day. Later, on September 21, he applied to the prosecutor's office again to update his testimony.

There is another statement of his in the file that was previously unknown.

HE HAS ANOTHER STATEMENT

This first statement by Bahtiyar, who was questioned as a 'person with knowledge' at the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command, was taken on September 4.

In his first statement, Bahtiyar says that on the day of the incident, he left his house in Tavşantepe at 6:00 AM and went to the village of Çarıklı to work on the electrical wiring of his other house under construction.

Bahtiyar says the following:

“I worked on this task there until 7:00 PM in the evening. When the electrician asked for 5,000 TL for his work, I went to my brother Mehmet's house in Çarıklı at 4:30 PM to borrow money. I got the money, came to the construction site, and gave it to the electrician. Other than that, I did not leave the construction site.

When I finished my work, I came home at 7:00 PM. The electrician and I worked together at the construction site. No one else came. I did not meet with anyone face-to-face.”

Bahtiyar claimed that he did not speak to anyone on the phone other than his brother Mehmet. However, it was pointed out that he had spoken with Salim Güran at 3:08 PM. Bahtiyar said, “I remembered after you mentioned it. I spoke with the village headman because there was a blockage in the water supply for my house and the cemetery.”

In his subsequent statements, Bahtiyar explained that his brother Mehmet's wife, Ayşe, brought him the 5,000 TL and that he went to the village of Tavşantepe to deliver the debt to the electrician.

In other words, he lied in his first statement by saying, “I never left Çarıklı.”

HIS LIE WAS EXPOSED

Meanwhile, it was revealed that on September 8, the day Narin's body was found, Bahtiyar did not come to the village and stayed at the construction site in the village of Çarıklı.

His son, İbrahim, said, “My father called. He asked, ‘Is entry and exit to the neighborhood closed?’ I said, ‘It is closed.’ My father then said he would stay at the house in Çarıklı.”
