The news millions of civil servants have been waiting for has arrived: Here are the new overtime rates
The hourly overtime pay for civil servants will increase from 10 Turkish Lira and 10 kurus to 12 Turkish Lira and 80 kurus in 2025.
According to the 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, the hourly overtime pay for civil servants will be increased by 26.7 percent in the new year. The hourly overtime rate, which was paid as 10 lira 10 kuruş in 2024, will rise to 12 lira 80 kuruş as of January 1, 2025.
MINISTRY STAFF WILL BE ABLE TO WORK UP TO 90 HOURS OF OVERTIME
All personnel, including official drivers working in the private offices of ministries, will be able to work a maximum of 90 hours of overtime per month, while drivers assigned to the central organizations of general directorates will be able to work a maximum of 60 hours, and they will receive an hourly overtime pay of 13 lira 60 kuruş instead of 10 lira 70 kuruş in the new year.
Provided that the total does not exceed 450 hours per month for each office, personnel working with board chairmen (ministries), general directors, heads of strategy development, governors, generals and admirals, department heads and senior executives at the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, force commands, the Gendarmerie General Command, and the Coast Guard Command, as well as rectors, metropolitan and provincial mayors, will be paid 13 lira 60 kuruş per hour for up to 90 hours per month.
Personnel working in dormitories affiliated with the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories and universities, who do not have the opportunity to take leave in exchange for overtime work, will receive an additional payment of 12 lira 80 kuruş per hour for up to 90 hours per month.
Administrative personnel of the Ministry of National Education working in vocational and technical secondary education institutions associated with vocational schools in the vocational and technical education region will be paid 21 lira 80 kuruş per hour for overtime work performed after the end of legal working hours, not exceeding 100 hours per month.
DOMESTIC PER DIEMS
Domestic per diem and compensation amounts have been redetermined within the framework of the Travel Allowance Law. In the new year, the domestic per diem amount to be paid to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and the Vice Presidents will increase from 500 lira to 715 lira.
The domestic per diem for the President of the Constitutional Court, ministers, the Chief of General Staff, members of parliament, force commanders, the Gendarmerie General Commander, the Coast Guard Commander, the Head of Presidential Administrative Affairs, the Secretary General of the TBMM, generals, admirals, the presidents of the Court of Cassation, the Council of State, the Court of Jurisdictional Disputes, and the Court of Accounts, the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation, the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Council of State, the Presidents of Religious Affairs and the Council of Higher Education, and the Chief Ombudsman will increase from 480 lira to 686 lira.
The domestic per diem amount will increase to 680 TL for civil servants in positions with an additional indicator of 8000 and higher. Civil servants at the lowest level will be paid 600 TL.
