Tourist visiting Istanbul from Germany for vacation found dead in hotel: 5 suspects detained

The incident occurred on April 23 at a hotel in the Muhsine Hatun neighborhood of Fatih. According to the information obtained, Selin Başak Schlosser (24) arrived in Istanbul from Germany for a vacation on April 20. After hotel staff could not reach the young woman, who had checked into a hotel in Fatih, for some time, they reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Police and medical teams dispatched to the scene upon the report found the young woman motionless in her hotel room.

Medical teams determined during their examination that Schlosser had passed away. Following the investigation at the scene, Schlosser's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death. It was learned that the report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institute found no signs of assault, struggle, or sharp object wounds on Schlosser's body. Expanding their investigation into the incident, police teams detained 5 suspects. The suspects, who were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station, were released after giving their statements.

On the other hand, footage has emerged showing the moment Selin Başak Schlosser entered a grocery store to ask for help, claiming she was being followed. In the footage captured by the security camera in the grocery store, it can be seen that the young woman entered the store, stayed inside for about 5 minutes, and spoke with someone.
