Traffic congestion experienced in Istanbul on the last day of the week

In Istanbul, on the final workday of the week, traffic congestion formed in some areas during the morning hours.

On the European Side, traffic is heavy on the D-100 highway in the Ankara direction, at the entrance to the Haliç Bridge.

Traffic was also observed to be flowing smoothly on the highway in the direction of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge between Okmeydanı and Mecidiyeköy.

Traffic congestion has also formed on the Edirne-bound direction of the TEM Highway at the Bağcılar section.

There is heavy traffic at the entrances to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on the Anatolian side.

Traffic is moving slowly on the D-100 highway at the Altunizade location in the direction of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge.

Traffic is also heavy on the Kadıköy-bound section of the highway at the Bostancı location.

Traffic congestion on the TEM Highway, which begins in Sancaktepe, continues as far as Ataşehir.

Those who left their homes in the morning hours to go to work and school caused crowding at some public transport stops, as well as at Metrobus and metro transfer hubs.

According to data from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mobile Traffic Map, traffic congestion reached 54 percent across the city during the morning hours, with density measured at 51 percent on the European side and 62 percent on the Anatolian side.
