The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has ranked Turkey's provinces with the highest and lowest crime rates in a study conducted using various indicators over some time. The cities at the top of the lists were surprising.
Provinces with the highest crime rates
1- Aydın crime rate: 970 per 100,000
2- Denizli crime rate: 902 per 100,000
3- Çorum crime rate: 871 per 100,000
4- Antalya crime rate: 847 per 100,000
5- Aksaray crime rate: 838 per 100,000
6- Karaman crime rate: 836 per 100,000
7- Manisa crime rate: 834 per 100,000
8- Isparta crime rate: 828 per 100,000
9- Izmir crime rate: 801 per 100,000
10- Uşak crime rate: 801 per 100,000
Provinces with the lowest crime rates
1- Adıyaman crime rate: 156 per 100,000
2- Şırnak crime rate: 159 per 100,000
3- Bitlis crime rate: 175 per 100,000
4- Siirt crime rate: 175 per 100,000
5- Erzincan crime rate: 191 per 100,000
6- Hakkari crime rate: 192 per 100,000
7- Mardin crime rate: 194 per 100,000
8- Erzurum crime rate: 196 per 100,000.
