Ugly attack on Özgür Özel! Who he called first has been revealed

A physical assault was carried out against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel as he was leaving the funeral ceremony of Sırrı Süreyya Önder.

The attacker who assaulted Özel has been taken into custody.

The name Özgür Özel called first after the attack has been revealed. Renowned writer Saygı Öztürk stated, “Immediately after the attack, the first person Özgür Özel called was his daughter. When he called, hearing İpek crying deeply saddened and hurt Mr. Özgür as a father.”

Following the funeral ceremony of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, a physical assault was carried out against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel by an attacker as he was leaving. Following the incident, the attacker was taken into custody by the teams.

In a statement made after the attack, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said: “An investigation has been launched regarding the assault on Republican People's Party Chairman Özgür Özel, who was attending an event today, and the individual who carried out the act has been apprehended and taken into custody. A detailed investigation is ongoing. Further information will be provided as developments occur.”
