US releases new batch of files from UFO archives
The US Department of Defense has released a new batch of declassified UFO files as part of President Donald Trump's transparency initiatives.
Following the directive of US President Donald Trump, the process of publishing government reports on unidentified flying objects (UFOs) continued today with the release of 64 new files. The new package includes six documents, 7 audio recordings, and 51 images.
What is in the new files?
A large portion of the new footage, published on the Department of Defense's dedicated website, is based on strange events recorded within the area of operations of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) between 2018 and 2023. In a video recorded over the Yellow Sea in January 2023, a small, round object is seen flying in the distance. In the footage, the round object can be seen moving at a very high speed from left to right when the camera zooms in.
In a 2022 video with no location data provided, numerous spherical objects are seen entering and exiting the water near a submarine. Among the footage of unidentified anomalous phenomena recorded by military aircraft cameras and sensors is the moment a fighter jet shot down an unidentified object over Lake Huron in 2023.
In footage recorded in Syria in 2021, an object moving in the sky is seen suddenly changing direction and accelerating, becoming untraceable by the sensor. In a video dated April 2024, an object can be seen passing rapidly by an aircraft. The footage, believed to have been obtained from an infrared sensor belonging to the US Coast Guard, was reportedly recorded in the southeastern United States.
The documents also include historical UFO sighting records, a report on Soviet Union intelligence activities, and UFO report files from the US Department of Energy.
Intelligence officer's testimony regarding UFO sighting also shared
One of the most notable items among the new releases is the account of a senior intelligence officer regarding UFO sightings. Describing in detail an experience he had in a military helicopter in late 2025, the officer recounted that he and the crew experienced "a series of close Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) encounters that lasted for over an hour." The officer stated, "From a distance, we saw countless orange spheres spreading in all directions against the backdrop of the mountain. This display lasted for a few minutes and then disappeared."
In his statement, the officer said, "Along with the pilots, I saw with the naked eye two large spheres glowing side-by-side, hovering motionless near the helicopter on our right side, just above the rotor disk. They were oval-shaped. They were orange with white or yellow centers and were emitting light in all directions."
"Public opinion was being distracted from the Iran war"
The first package of UFO files was released on May 8. Following this move, figures such as former US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and famous commentator Joe Rogan accused US President Trump of trying to distract public attention from the war with Iran by releasing the UFO files.
