Vehicle struggling to climb snowy ramp bursts into flames: Driver searched for gold in the wreckage

The incident occurred in the Uludağ neighborhood of the Canik district.According to the information obtained,the car with license plate 55 TA 743, driven by Sercan B.,struggled to climb the ramp due to the snowfall. 

The strain on the vehicle caused a fire to break out. A police officer passing byhelped the driver and his childout of the car and made the first intervention with a fireextinguisher.

Upon notification, police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene. 

Samsun MetropolitanMunicipality Fire Department teams could not reach the burning vehicle due to the slippery road, so they extended a hose to intervenein the fire andextinguishedit. 

During the intervention,a fire truck also skidded on the snow and narrowly avoided an accident. The car was completely destroyed by the fire and turned into a heap of iron.

After the fire departmentextinguished the fire and completed cooling efforts, the vehicledriver claimed he had 5,000 liras in cash and 4 grams of goldin the car and asked the fire crews to help him find them. 

Thedriver and fire crews searched the burnt vehiclefor the money and gold,but nothing was found.

Uludağ Neighborhood Headman Sevgi Baş Tumgan said, "We experienced a sad situation due to the snow. A vehicle caught fire because it struggledwhile climbing in the snow.The citizen got out of the car at that moment. There was no loss of life. 

He got out of the carwith his child when it started to catch fire.  

My request to drivers is not to strain their vehicles in these weatherconditions and to install chains if possible. If we are careful, we will not experience any loss of property or life," she said.
