Warning from Social Security expert Özgür Erdursun: If you are not careful, your retirement will be delayed by 11 years

A development concerning millions of retirees and citizens waiting to retire has come from Social Security Expert Özgür Erdursun.

Recently, AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler stated, "We need to build a more fair, balanced, and sustainable pension system that takes into account the premium amount, the age, and the duration of payments."

While these preparations are ongoing, social security expert Özgür Erdursun made a statement regarding this situation on his social media account.

Stating, "Those who do not pay attention to what I have written will have their retirement delayed by 11 years, 1 month, and 10 days," Erdursun included the following remarks regarding retirement procedures:

"Bağ-Kur debts that were unpaid before 1/5/2021 have been erased. Bağ-Kur debts incurred after 1/5/2021 have not been erased. The final 2,520 days determine the status under which you will retire. For those who previously had SSK status and later switched to Bağ-Kur, if they pay premiums for more than 1,260 days, they will transition to Bağ-Kur requirements in order to retire through SSK."

Those who have had their Bağ-Kur debts erased despite being enrolled in the Bağ-Kur system should pay close attention to the date of May 1, 2021, and must not remain in the Bağ-Kur system for 1,261 days after this date.

Attention those continuing under Bağ-Kur! If you exceed 3 years and 6 months after 1.5.2021 and switch to Bağ-Kur conditions, if you do not retire by 30/10/2024 or leave Bağ-Kur, your retirement requirement will increase from 5000-5975 days based on your initial SSK start date to 9000 days under Bağ-Kur! In this case, your retirement will be delayed by between 8 years, 4 months, 25 days and 11 years, 1 month, 10 days!!!
