In the fire that broke out yesterday at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya Ski Center, 76 people lost their lives and 51 were injured. While statements from employees and guests confirm a chain of negligence, striking details about the hotel are coming to light one by one.

There are 5 hotels at the Kartalkaya Ski Center, located at the summit of the Köroğlu Mountains at an altitude of 2,200 meters. The fire escapes of 4 of these hotels are located outside the buildings and are made of metal.

Following the fire tragedy in which 76 people lost their lives, it was observed that the fire escape of the Grand Kartal Hotel, owned by Halit Ergün who has been taken into custody, was located inside the building.

In one of the 2 separate recordings made during the fire, the state of the fire escapes covered in smoke was reflected on camera, while in the other, they were seen engulfed in flames.

FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT EMERGES

On the other hand, while the repercussions of the incident continue, the fire department report for the hotel where the tragedy occurred has also emerged. The fire department report, prepared on January 2, revealed that the hotel management, which had built the fire escape inside the building, also kept LPG-type flammable and explosive materials in the cafe where the fire first started. The fact that the fire grew rapidly and engulfed the entire building brought the question "Did these materials fuel the flames?" to mind.
