The cooling weather in Istanbul has increased curiosity about when snowfall will begin. A statement has come from meteorology expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen.
Making a statement via his social media account, Prof. Dr. Şen provided a date for when the megacity will see snow.
Stating that no precipitation is expected at the end of the year or on New Year's, Şen estimated that snowfall in Istanbul will occur on January 9-10.
Şen used the following expressions:
"Those waiting for snowfall that will stick to the ground in Marmara, including Istanbul, will have to wait for January 9-10."
