When will the pension raise arrive? How much will the lowest pension be?
The latest developments regarding the pension raise continue to be on the public agenda. Following the 4-month inflation data announced by TUIK, the rate of the raise to be applied to pensions based on the inflation difference has become a subject of curiosity. So, how much will the lowest pension be? When will the pension raise be implemented?
Millions of retirees are focused on the inflation rate to be announced by TUIK. As is known, pension raises are largely determined based on the 6-month inflation difference. So, how much will the lowest pension be? When will the pension raise be reflected in accounts?
For the salary raise that SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive in January 2025, only the inflation data for November and December remain. While the inflation rate for the first 4 months was announced as 12.06 percent, the rate of the raise to be applied to pensions will become clear once the inflation rates for the last two months of the year are determined.
HOW MUCH WILL THE JANUARY 2025 PENSION RAISE BE?
In the Medium-Term Program, the inflation rate for 2024 was estimated at 41.5 percent. If this estimate is realized, the inflation for the July-December period will be 13.45 percent, and a raise at the same rate will be applied to SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensions in January. As will be recalled, a 24.73 percent raise was applied to SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensions in July.
HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?
The lowest pension will become clear after the 6-month inflation difference to be announced by TUIK.
In July, the lowest pension was increased to 12,500 TL with a 25 percent raise made by taking the 6-month inflation difference into account.
STATEMENT FROM PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN
Responding to journalists' questions on the plane upon his return from his visit to Brazil, President Erdoğan made important statements regarding the minimum wage and inflation rates. Erdoğan stated, "Last year, we gave our minimum wage-earning brothers and sisters a 107.5 percent raise. At that time, inflation was at the 65 percent level. This year, we made a 49 percent raise, and as of October, inflation is trending below 49 percent. We will also close the year at around 44 percent according to our Central Bank's estimates. In short, we have not allowed our retirees, our civil servants, our minimum wage earners, or any segment of society to be crushed by inflation, and we will not allow it," he said.
