Worker housing facility engulfed in flames
A fire that broke out in containers used as staff housing and storage within a citrus orchard in the Bodrum district of Muğla has been extinguished.
According to the information obtained, a fire started in containers located in a citrus orchard on Müskebi Street in the Ortakent neighborhood. Upon notification by those in the vicinity, fire crews were dispatched to the area. The fire department intervened in the 3 containers that were engulfed in flames.
As a result of the teams' efforts, the fire was brought under control and extinguished. Investigations determined that the fire originated from an electrical fault in the storage section. In the fire, 15 single beds and bunk beds located in the 3 containers, as well as 3 water tanks with a 7-ton capacity, were completely burned and rendered unusable.
Additionally, timber planks located in the orchard were also damaged. An investigation into the incident, in which no loss of life or injuries occurred, is ongoing.
