Young woman struck by car thrown several meters

The accident occurred yesterday shortly before iftar time on Şehit Refik Cesur Street in the Bahçecik neighborhood of the Ortahisar district. According to the information obtained, a car, which was alleged to be speeding, struck Öznur Kazaz as she was attempting to cross the road. Kazaz was thrown meters away by the force of the impact and was seriously injured.

Upon notification by bystanders, medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured woman, who received initial intervention at the scene, was taken by ambulance to Kanuni Training and Research Hospital for treatment. It was learned that Kazaz, whose treatment continues at the hospital, is in critical condition.

Security camera footage showed the woman looking to her right and left before crossing, but she was unable to see the road clearly due to a car performing a reverse maneuver in front of a market.

Furthermore, the footage captured the moments of the accident, which occurred minutes before iftar, showing a vehicle waiting with its hazard lights on behind the car performing the reverse maneuver, while the speeding car changed lanes and struck Kazaz.
