Hand grenade attack on car dealership

The incident occurred on April 9, when an armed and hand grenade attack was carried out on a car dealership on Koca Orman Street in the Damlar neighborhood.

The suspects first opened fire on the business, and the subsequent explosion of the hand grenade caused great fear and panic in the area. While the explosion caused damage to the business, the individuals who carried out the attack were identified shortly after as a result of technical and physical surveillance.

5 people arrested

Teams from the Kocaeli Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch launched an operation to apprehend the suspects.

In this context, simultaneous operations were carried out in 3 different districts of Istanbul. The 5 individuals determined to have carried out the attack were apprehended and taken into custody at the addresses where they were hiding. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse and were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
