High school freshman with 3 failing grades on report card takes their own life
In the Melikgazi district of Kayseri, a 9th-grade high school student allegedly took their own life by jumping from the window of their 6th-floor apartment after arguing with their older brother over having 3 failing grades on their report card.
According to the information obtained,in the incident that occurredon the top floor of a 6-story building located on Celal Bayar Street in the Demokrasi neighborhood of the district, a 9th-grade high schoolstudent, T.Ş. (15), allegedlyarguedwith their older brother because they had 3 failing grades on their report card.
Following the argument, T.Ş. jumped from the window of their residence.
Upon the notification of the family who noticed the situation, police and medicalteams were dispatched to the area.
While police teams took security measures in the vicinity,medical teams, after their initialintervention,rushed T.Ş. by ambulance to Erciyes UniversityFacultyof Medicine Hospital.
Despite all interventions at the hospital,T.Ş.lost their life.
The high schoolstudent's body was taken to the hospital morgue.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
