Natural gas disaster on the top floor of an apartment building: 2 dead, 5 injured

The incident occurred on the 6th floor of a 6-story apartment building in the Hıdırağa neighborhood at Borsa Square, where natural gas services are provided by GAZDAŞ Trakya.

The explosion caused widespread panic in the surrounding area. Upon notification, numerous health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While teams took extensive security measures in the area, the injured received initial medical intervention on-site.

It was determined that 2 people lost their lives at the scene during the explosion. The 5 injured individuals were transported to hospitals by ambulances after initial intervention by medical teams and are currently receiving treatment.

While the force of the explosion caused extensive damage to the apartment, the exterior of the building was also damaged.

Investigations by police, fire department, and relevant agency teams into the exact cause of the explosion are ongoing.
