Shocking research results! Institutions the public does not trust have been revealed
The Social Studies Institute's research measuring social trends in Turkey asked the question, "Could you name the two institutions you trust the least?" Striking results emerged; a large portion of participants pointed to the state, the judiciary, and the media as the least trusted institutions. These results revealed a deep sense of distrust in society and that the feeling of trust has weakened.
The Social Studies Institute asked, "Could you state the two institutions you trust the least?" in its research measuring social trends in Turkey.
Those in the top three of the list drew attention.
The Social Studies Institute conducted a field study to 'measure social trends in Turkey.' In the research, which was carried out using a survey method between September 19-22, 2024, 1,514 people were asked several questions. The margin of error for the survey was determined to be plus or minus 2.5 percent.
Among the questions asked to the participants, the one with the most striking responses was "Could you state the two institutions you trust the least in Turkey?"
POLITICAL PARTIES IN FIRST PLACE
"Political parties" ranked as the least trusted institution in Turkey. While 25.1 percent of those who participated in the survey chose this option, the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) took second place.
DIYANET TOOK SECOND PLACE
The number of those who do not trust Diyanet, which frequently advises citizens to 'be grateful' but is shaken by allegations of luxury vehicle consumption and the use of institutional resources for personal interests, was 18.8 percent.
THE JUDICIARY IS IN THIRD PLACE
It was noted that the judiciary was in the third place among the institutions that the survey participants trusted the least. The rate of those who do not trust the judiciary was 18.4 percent, a result quite close to that of Diyanet.
The government took fourth place.
The number of those who do not trust the AKP government, which suffered a serious loss of votes in the last local elections in light of economic developments and fell to the position of the second party in the elections after losing the municipalities it held, was 14.3 percent.
TURKSTAT IS ALSO ON THE LIST
Following political parties and Diyanet, the rates of other institutions being marked as "one of the two institutions you trust the least" are as follows:
TURKSTAT: 8.7 percent
Opposition: 7.2 percent
Parliament: 4.9 percent
RTÜK: 2.1 percent
