Suspect who killed elderly woman and stole her gold turns out to be the building superintendent

The incident occurred on June 17 in the Atatürk neighborhood of the Islahiye district. According to allegations, neighbors and citizens who heard noises coming from the home of Saniye Yaşar (59) reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Upon entering the house, the teams found Saniye Yaşar on the floor, covered in blood, having been shot. Despite all interventions following her transport to Islahiye State Hospital by medical teams, Yaşar lost her life.

As a result of meticulous work lasting several days by the Gaziantep Police Department's Homicide Bureau, it was determined that the suspect and alleged killer who murdered the 59-year-old woman and stole her gold was Ö.M. It was learned that the suspect, who was taken into custody during an operation, was the superintendent of the apartment building where Saniye Yaşar lived. After being processed at the police station, Ö.M. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
