The actual target of the attacker who killed 2 people in the mosque was the imam

According to the information obtained, in the incident that occurred before the evening prayer at the Saraycık Mosque in the Saraycık neighborhood of the district, M.A., who is alleged to have psychological problems, attacked Musa Y. and Zübeyir T., who had come for prayer, with a knife.

Upon notification, numerous gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the area. While gendarmerie teams took security measures in the vicinity, it was determined during the initial intervention by medical teams at the scene that Musa Y. and Zübeyir T. had lost their lives.

While teams conducted an investigation at the scene, the lifeless bodies of Musa Y. and Zübeyir T. were taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

The suspect M.A. was apprehended and taken into custody by gendarmerie teams. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.

On the other hand, it was learned that the attacker M.A. had come to the mosque to kill the imam, and upon not seeing the imam in the mosque, he attacked the congregation, killing Musa Y. and Zübeyir T.

It was also learned that the imam, hearing the sounds after M.A.'s attack, came to the mosque but, upon seeing the incident, fled from the attacker and saved his life.
