Unmanned aerial vehicle believed to be for military use crashes on Filyos Beach
Extensive security measures have been taken in the Filyos town of Zonguldak's Çaycuma district after an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), believed to be for military use, crashed onto the Black Sea coast.
According to information obtained, citizens who spotted an unmanned aerial vehicle washed up on the shore at Filyos Beach reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, numerous gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.
The teams, which established a security perimeter around the area, did not allow citizens to approach the location where the UAV was found. Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene due to the possibility of explosives, and a technical investigation was initiated on the unmanned aerial vehicle.
No official statement has yet been made regarding the origin of the UAV, which was stated in initial assessments to be for military use. While security forces continue their investigation into the incident, it was learned that SAT commandos would also be dispatched to the region. It is expected that authorities will clarify which country the unmanned aerial vehicle belongs to and how it reached the Black Sea following the technical examinations to be conducted.
