A new variant of Covid-19, which first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and has caused the deaths of more than 7 million people worldwide to date, has appeared.
While it was stated that the name of the new variant is FLiRT, it was pointed out that its most important symptom is a runny nose.
Experts stated that they do not yet know whether the mutated strain is more contagious or more lethal, while it was reported that approximately 2 thousand new cases were seen in England in the first week of May.
According to the report in T24, it was also noted that loss of taste or smell, one of the original symptoms of the virus, is also being observed. It has been learned that this new strain, recorded as the FLiRT variant of Covid-19, is much more difficult to prevent and is more resistant to vaccines.
