With the arrival of winter, the flu has begun to appear among citizens. Recently, the flu vaccine has emerged as an effective protective measure against the flu. Pharmacists explained the steps citizens should follow to get the flu vaccine. Pharmacists stated that after the right to receive the flu vaccine is defined in the e-Nabız systems, citizens can obtain the vaccine by going to a pharmacy with an electronic prescription obtained from their family physician.

Stating that citizens have the opportunity to get vaccinated until the end of January, they issued warnings against purchasing vaccines and medicines online.

'VACCINATION CAN BE DONE UNTIL JANUARY'

Çağatay Fikret Erad, a pharmacist in Eskişehir, reminded citizens that they have until the end of January to get the flu vaccine.

Providing information on the process required to get the flu vaccine, pharmacist Erad said, “To get the flu vaccine, one must first go to a Family Health Center. After checking the e-Nabız system, if there is a right to receive the flu vaccine, they come to the pharmacy after having the electronic prescription written. We then supply the vaccines and deliver them to them. Flu vaccines are only obtained from pharmacies. The season for getting this vaccine continues until the end of January.

Citizens still have time to get vaccinated. The Ministry of Health prioritizes chronic and elderly patients for the vaccine. Then it is administered to other citizens. Therefore, they should not rush. Citizens should check the e-Nabız system. They should definitely not procure vaccines and medicines from the internet. They should only shop at pharmacies,” he said.

Discussing the benefits of the flu vaccine, pharmacist Erad stated that there has been demand from citizens for the vaccine for about 20 days, and spoke as follows:

“The flu vaccine has certain components that will protect the body against the virus and create antibodies in the body. If you introduce these components to the body in advance, the body recognizes them and allows you to get through the flu more mildly. It also prevents other diseases such as pneumonia. Because pneumonia can also be seen in elderly patients who have a severe case of the flu. The flu vaccine prevents this. Our workload has increased in the last 20-day period. The flu vaccine has reached us. We are receiving a high number of applications for the flu vaccine.”
