Minister Koca announces: Eris variant detected in 9 people in Turkey
Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that the Eris variant has been detected in 9 people. Koca stated, "They have international contacts and are in the same province. We will continue with our current measures and daily lives."
Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced on his social media account under the heading "A development not to be considered a cause for concern" that the Eris variant has been detected in Turkey.
Stating, "The Eris variant, whose low virulence we are aware of, was detected in 9 people during the examination conducted at our Reference Laboratory," Minister Koca noted that the individuals who tested positive had international contacts and were located in the same province.
While expressing that current measures and daily life will continue, Koca said, "The situation is widespread in other countries, and it was likely to emerge here as well. We will protect our elderly and our patients with chronic conditions."
