Ministry of Agriculture announces counterfeit food products

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to share the results of the inspections it conducts to ensure that citizens have access to healthy food with the public.

In recent examinations, fraud and adulteration that could threaten health were detected in some brands of spices, oil, molasses, clotted cream, yogurt, delicatessen products, and honey.

The Ministry is tightening its inspections and exposing non-compliant products in order to prevent such items from reaching the consumer. In this context, the use of offal in lahmacun and the presence of prohibited dyes in spices were particularly notable. The Ministry stated that the consumption of such products carries serious health risks and warned consumers to shop consciously.

These types of inspections, carried out to ensure food safety, aim to help consumers access accurate and healthy products. The Ministry will continue to inform the public by regularly updating the inspection results.
