Turkish-branded halva recalled in Germany: Salmonella risk

Following the detection of Salmonella bacteria in a specific batch of Sebahat Vanilla Flavored Halva sold in Germany, TOK Gıda has initiated an urgent recall process. This decision covers only products with specific production codes and was taken with food safety as a priority.

The company stated that the recall only affects products with the batch number 2024331 and an expiration date of 26.11.2026. Other production batches are not affected by this process. Consumers will be able to return these products to the stores where they purchased them without needing a receipt and receive a refund.

TOK Gıda officials announced that this step is a preventive measure and that the process is being managed meticulously to protect consumer health. The company stated that the return procedures will be completed without causing any inconvenience to customers.

Salmonella bacteria can cause serious health problems, especially in individuals with weakened immune systems. Consuming foods containing this bacteria can manifest with symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and fever. Experts advise individuals experiencing these symptoms to consult a healthcare facility immediately.
