Turkish Neurological Society: 'We cannot examine patients with Botox'

Botox, a treatment generally applied for the formation of forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, and frown lines, has become quite widespread in our country in recent years.

The Turkish Neurological Society stated in a press release that they are unable to perform neurological examinations on patients with Botox.

The written statement issued:

"We cannot perform neurological examinations on patients with Botox. Furthermore, Botox can cause neurological and life-threatening problems. The number of patients has increased. There are patients who cannot speak or swallow, and who experience double vision due to weakened eye muscles after facial Botox."

WHAT IS BOTOX?

The term Botox stands for "Botulinum toxin." Botox, which is a toxin derived from a bacterium called 'Clostridium botulinum,' is a procedure that interrupts communication between nerves and the organs they reach.
