Attention those who want to study law: Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced the new requirement

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç provided information regarding the change made in the YKS application guide published by ÖSYM.

In a statement on his social media account, Tunç noted the following:

"May the new success criterion for admission to law schools be beneficial. The establishment of a reliable justice system is possible with well-trained legal professionals who possess a legal mindset. It is of great importance that our judges and prosecutors, who will make important decisions on behalf of our nation, and our lawyers, who represent the defense, are better equipped both qualitatively and quantitatively when they take the stand. We are working towards this goal and taking our steps with determination. In order to further increase the quality of legal education, the success ranking for admission to the faculty has been raised following the practices of abolishing evening education in law schools and ending vertical transfers from vocational schools.

In line with the view we included in our Judicial Reform Strategy Document, which is the first document of the Century of Turkey prepared by the Ministry of Justice, with the change made in the YKS application guide published by ÖSYM, candidates ranked in the top 100,000 will now be able to choose law schools. I sincerely believe that raising the success ranking for admission to law schools, which train the human resources of the judiciary, will further increase the quality of the education provided. I wish our future legal professionals great success on the challenging path they will take for the manifestation of justice."
